1. Overview of VISIA Analysis
VISIA captures standardized facial imaging and calculates percentile-ranked scores compared with age- and gender-matched cohorts.
The system evaluates:
- Spots
- Wrinkles
- Texture (smoothness vs roughness)
- Pores
- UV Spots
- Brown Spots / Melanin density
- Red Areas / Vascularity
- Porphyrins (acne bacteria by-products)
- TruSkin Age®
- UV fluorescence for pigmentation beneath the surface
2. VISIA Categories & What They Clinically Mean
A. Spots
Includes freckles, sunspots, keratoses, PIH.
Clinical meaning: Surface dyschromia, early sun damage, uneven tone.
Recommended DaVieva Interventions:
- Melanin-safe chemical peels (VI Peel Precision Plus, Enlighten)
- Laser Genesis (for diffused sun damage)
- SecretDUO fractional non-ablative resurfacing
- HQ-free pigment suppression: Tranexamic acid, cysteamine, azelaic, kojic
B. Wrinkles
Assesses depth, length, and pattern of etched lines.
DaVieva Recommendations:
- Neuromodulators (Botox/Jeuveau)
- SecretRF microneedling
- Collagen biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse)
- NanoFractional or non-ablative laser tightening
- Peptide + retinoid nightly support
C. Texture
Measures irregularities in skin topography.
Treatment Mapping:
- Microdermabrasion / HydraFacial
- SecretRF or SecretDUO
- Retinoids + HA + peptides
- Collagen induction therapy
D. Pores
Size and density of visible pores.
DaVieva Protocol:
- HydraFacial + GlySal booster
- BHA (salicylic) regimen
- Laser Genesis for sebaceous regulation
- Niacinamide, retinol, and azelaic acid
E. UV Spots
Underlying sun damage invisible to the naked eye.
Interventions:
- Melasma protocol (for skin of color, Fitz IV–VI)
- TXA oral/topical
- SPF 50 PA++++ daily
- Non-ablative laser (Cutera Xeo+)
- Hydroquinone (short-course) if appropriate
F. Brown Spots
Deep melanin clusters & stubborn pigmentation.
Treatments:
- DaVieva Melasma Protocol
- SecretDUO dual-layer toning
- Chemical peels (melanin-safe sequence)
- Cysteamine, TXA, retinoids
- Avoid IPL in Fitz IV–VI
G. Red Areas
Includes telangiectasias, diffuse redness, inflammation.
Solutions:
- Laser Genesis vascular mode
- Azelaic acid, niacinamide
- Anti-inflammatory LED (yellow/amber)
- KTP/Excel V+ (if available)
H. Porphyrins
Indicates P. acnes bacterial activity and congestion.
DaVieva Acne Strategy:
- HydraFacial + vortex extractions
- Blue LED
- BPO wash + retinoid
- SecretRF for acne scarring
- Lifestyle + hormonal assessment if adult acne
3. VISIA Percentile Score Interpretation
VISIA ranks each category 0–100 compared with similar demographic individuals.
- 80–100: Excellent. Maintain and optimize.
- 60–79: Mild concerns; manageable with consistent skincare.
- 40–59: Moderate concerns; combination therapy recommended.
- <40: Significant issues; design multi-modal treatment plan.
4. TruSkin Age® Explanation
Estimates “visual skin age” based on all VISIA metrics.
- If TruSkin Age < Actual Age → Excellent collagen, pigment control, lifestyle habits
- If TruSkin Age > Actual Age → Suggests photodamage, inflammation, or untreated concerns
DaVieva Plan:
- Start anti-aging protocol
- Build 3-month collagen cycle (retinoids + peptides + treatments)
- Evaluate hormonal, sleep, and stress contributors if accelerated aging is noted
